Dr. Kashim Shettima Initiates Groundbreaking Committee for Human Capital Development in Nigeria

Katsina Times

In a significant move towards advancing the Human Capital Development (HCD) program of the Federal Government, Dr. Kashim Shettima, the Deputy President of Nigeria, has given approval for the establishment of a multi-sectoral committee.

The committee, comprising representatives from both Federal and State Governments, as well as key donors and partners, will convene bi-weekly to assess the progress in achieving the objectives set by the HCD program.

This decision emerged from a high-profile meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, involving Dr. Shettima, Shubham Chaudhuri (World Bank's Country Director for Nigeria), Alhaji Aliko Dangote (Chairman of the Dangote Foundation), Mr. Tony Elumelu (Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation), and Prof. Ali Pate (Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare), among other influential figures.

During the deliberations, Dr. Shettima emphasized the critical importance of government and partners investing in human capital development. The goal is to cultivate a workforce that not only competes globally but also possesses the adaptability required for the contemporary challenges of the 21st century.
